1 2 3 4 5 Everybody in the car, so come on let's ride

1) Name that song!
2) I go to EVERYTHING alone. Movies, church, the mall, out to eat, etc. It's tiring.
3) I sleep 10 hours every day. Why?
4) Nice to talk to non Christians sometimes because they are more genuine...or at least appear that way. It seems that Christians put on a front more. Sometimes non-Christians seem to have more life to them. Why is that?
5) I just watched Full House and almost started crying while watching it at work. Uncle Jessie had just found out he was going to have twins. It just kept making me think of how much I want to be a husband and a father. I can’t wait to start my own family. It made me think of how sick I am of having to apologize for feeling that way too.

Hmm...I've often wondered that about non-christians - mainly because I've always felt like my friendships have been easier with with them and assumed it's because I didn't grow up non-christian.

Personally, I feel like I'm always on guard with christians because i'm not sure if they will judge me for something I say or do - I feel like we are more critical and not in a very "grace-full" way.

For example, my roommate's dad came to visit. He sees that there are some bottles of wine, a bottle of vodka and some kahlua on top of our fridge. His first words are "who's the drunkard in the house". He failed to realized that half of them weren't even opened and that the others were barely used. For the next three days he lectured me on all manner of things, and I couldn't figure out why he suddenly doubted my character, my faith, etc. Then he left and my roommate informed me about the alcohol comment. That's a small example - but illustrative of how christians can treat each other sometimes.

i don't know why you feel the need to apologize...i think it's great you want to be a dad and husband...and i think you'll do great at it all!

To d~nice, what can you expect? It is surprising to see alcohol especially more than beer or wine on the table of a christian. The Bible says to avoid "even the appearance of evil".

Don't think it's someone judging you. I think of it more as an accountability question. What kind of a witness is it for a christian to have hard alcohol on their table?

Anyway, I hope these words encourage you rather than condemn you.

please do not fear for my walk or the lack of "accountability" in my life. Fortunately, I do have lots of folks who are walking with me in this journey and who keep me plenty accountable when it comes to my actions/household/appearence/etc! As for alcohol on my table actually, my refridgerator ;) - as I said in the previous post, I haven't used much of it at all (I personally can't drink beer or wine) and I cook with the other liquers. I also know that there is a lot of dissension in the christian community over alcohol consumption - and at the moment, I do not believe there is a bibical mandate to abstain from all alcohol all the time. maybe we can chat more about this though - feel free to visit me at my blog!
